Goth Pants – Gothic Pants Styles

Goth pants are an essential part of the fashion created by the gothic subculture. They are important to the identity of the wearer as they serve to showcase the independent spirit inherent in all goths.

The style is usually a variation of elements like leather, vinyl, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and bondage with plenty of extra accessories.

Female goths typically wear trousers with lots of zippers, studs and buckles. Usually they are black but plaid in pinks, blacks, whites and reds are very common.

Some prefer baggy styles which are very large and cover the shoes. These kinds are often adorned with removable silver chains, extra zippers and pockets and lots of loops with rings which hang for aesthetic purposes.

More recently, tighter fitting pants such as skinny denim styles have become more popular. This change has a lot to do with goths feeling weighed down by their clothing. The snug bottoms typically have two pockets if any at all and are usually a plain color with no special chains or zippers.

Goth pants for males are normally very loose fitting or very tight. Some are made from leather and have a shiny sheer to them. Unlike the stereotypical baggy mesh jeans or black pants, leather pants are form fitting and more lightweight.

Bondage pants combine the style of baggy pants with a more figure flattering fashion. These are normally black with silver bondage rings, lots of pockets and attached suspenders, chains, or restraints. PVC and vinyl are shiny materials that have a plastic, futuristic appearance. Still others who prefer the Victorian or Medieval look will go with a Renaissance style of pants which are skin tight.

Popular goth pants brands include Tripp NYC for baggy, loose fitting types with lots of accessories. Lip Service and Social Collision offer many skinny, flattering kinds.

Gothic style is never set in stone and leaves it up to the wearer to find whatever they feel comfortable in and show it off. Because of the DIY, do-it-yourself nature of the gothic subculture, many enjoy creating their own original bottoms and designs.
