When I get dressed I KNOW people are going to stare at me just because I wear black lipstick, or black combat boots. But its fun to see the stares. I never wore Areopoastale or Abercrombie EVER in my life because I think its for dumb people who give BJ’s when their freaking 12. So basicly, you should express yourself no matter what society thinks about you!!!

I think to two previous comments misunderstood what a statement might be. For example, a statement is meant to get people to think about what they see. Sometimes forcing someone to take a second look is good simply because otherwise people loose track of the reality they live in. Oh, and by the way commenter #2, all the capitals and astricts do nothing for your argument. I would suggest more substance and less profanity.

I totally agree. WHENEVER I GET DRESSED I HONESTLY COULD GIVE TWO ***** WHETHER OR NOT I’M BEING NOTICED. I WEAR WHAT I WEAR BECAUSE IT’S WHAT I LIKE, NOT BECAUSE I’M FOCUSED ON WHAT DIP****S ARE LOOKING. I COULD CARE LESS. I SECOND THE COMMENT ABOVE. BUT, 2 EACH HIS OWN.

No Goth clothes are not worn with the intention of “sticking out from the crowd”. That is the whole point you are missing. None of us pay any attention to “the crowd” to even know were “sticking out”. What I wear makes me feel beautiful and is pleasing to my eye whether or not other people are wearing it or not doesnt matter. We know what we like when we see it without interference from trends, magazines, MTV, culture, societal rules and so on. Goths NEVER want to stand out from the crowd thats why most goth people tend to want to move to other areas that are more goth. If we were intending to stand out form the crowd with our clothes all of us would be flocking to Kansas or Ohio dont you think? I can assure you I do not give one thought to the outside world when I am getting dressed.
